All the things are changing

Just a ramble….

Covid has changed almost everything in my life. And I know I’m not alone. Not by a long shot….

The only thing that seems to have actually held strong through 2020 is the forward movement of The Bride Social (a new social platform and wedding planning platform that has already began to unfold. Everything else though, has been flipped upside down. 30+ weddings on the books as my final year shooting, all but just a few postponed. There goes the financial stability of the year. Racing, road, bmx, mountain. BMX has begun a slow come back. But due to the loss of weddings, that too, has been put on the back burner. The house I lived in for 14 years, I am no longer in. A new life direction with lots of light, seems to have slid away. It seems as though the entire year has shifted.

Thing is, I can’t say it has all shifted for the worse.

There are ways you can look at things. At life situations. Covid has forced me, as well as just about everyone else, to slow down and re-assess.

Be that our home life, our life goals, what had become our daily routine (for better or worse). We sat in that for a long bit. We simply sat. (other than the healthcare and front line workers, they didn’t get to sit. They had to battle. And for that, I thank you all).

So what am I getting at? I’m not really sure. I think that will come in a post a few days down the road.

All I know is that I have been forced to shift. As a simple way of survival. Shift. Creative and artistic sparks have been re-ignited and are burning strong. Life grows. I ride to simple pedal and get ready for the ride across the country next year. I created to build hope and happiness in others as well as, yes, survive. And I grow. Have you grown through this time???

All that being said, there is one BIG thing coming in the next couple weeks. A campaign that will have me on the road getting jackets, sweaters, blankets and food to the homeless. And not just that, but telling the story of everyone I meet along the way. I need to give back, I need to help others. And I believe this will be my way for the coming months.

For now, I hope peace is in your soul and your heart is strong. You are loved and you do indeed matter.
